COACHING APPROACH
Coaching is form of learning, which emphasises self-development and personal goal achievement.
It’s about identifying new ways of thinking and approaching situations.
It’s about helping you to be the best that you can be.
As a qualified coach and experienced leader, I take a situational coach-mentoring approach with my clients. This means you will be supported flexibly according to your needs, from a pure coaching perspective, while also benefitting from practical advice and support I can offer as a mentor, drawing from my own leadership experience.
My approach as a coach is highly person-centred applying a balance of support and challenge to help you identify and develop your strengths, reducing any limiting beliefs to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
As coaches, our role is to foster a trusting relationship where you, as the coachee, are able to explore areas of personal and professional development in a protected space. It involves a series of structured conversations over a set period of time where you are able to explore areas and goals you would like to develop. Through these conversations you will be able to gain a greater awareness and appreciation of yourself, your values, your motivations and your goals, while learning different ways to approach problem solving, develop relationships, and ultimately achieving your personal and professional ambitions.
If you are interested in coaching for yourself or your team, please contact me for an initial discussion around your needs and situation. Most coaching engagements involve initial exploratory conversations with the coachee, and their organisational sponsor or line manager. I would then advocate a 3-way discussion with the coachee and their line manager to agree coaching goals and the coaching agreement. I would usually suggest an initial set of around 5-6 coaching sessions of approximately 90 minutes over 3-6 months, depending on availability and urgency.
